Wood Chips
Woodchips are a fuel made from woody biomass. It is fuel in a solid state. Depending on the chemical properties of the woody masses, wood logs are peeled and the bark and woodchips are processed. Woodchips are generally made in the process of chipping wood with a woodchipper.
Woodchips are used as a raw material for technical wood processing. Sources for wood chips include:
- Waste woods and wood residuals from construction, agriculture, landscaping, logging, forresting and sawmills.
- Fuel crops harvested or grown locally.
